PHACO MACHINE

The phaco machine aims to balance fluidics within the eye, while delivering ultrasonic energy and vacuum in order to emulsify and aspirate the cataract through a small incision. Cataract surgery can be divided into multiple steps, each of which benefits from optimized fluidic settings.

A-SCAN

A-scan ultrasound biometry, commonly referred to as an A-scan (short for Amplitude scan), is a routine type of diagnostic test used in optometry or ophthalmology. The A-scan provides data on the length of the eye, which is a major determinant in common sight disorders. The most common use of the A-scan is to determine eye length for calculation of intraocular lens power.

IOL MASTER

The IOL Master ocular biometry is a test that measures the size of the eyeball, called axial length, and allows to calculate the dioptric power of the intraocular lenses that are implanted at the end of the crystalline lens, which is the inner lens of the eye that helps to focus better. Lens extraction is performed in cataract surgery or refractive surgery, so ocular biometry is a necessary test for any patient who is a candidate for either of these two surgeries.

NC TONOMETER

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an imaging method used to generate a picture of the back of the eye, called the retina. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. The OCT is an excellent way to visualize the different layers of the retina and optic nerve in the eye. OCT is routinely used during check-up of patients with Cataract.

SLIT LAMP

A slit lamp is a microscope with a bright light used during an eye exam. It gives your ophthalmologist a closer look at the different structures at the front of the eye and inside the eye. It’s a key tool in determining the health of your eyes and detecting eye disease.
